On Hawai'i island ("the Big Island"), a vacation cottage near Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park
In the Hawaiian language, a kipuka is a kind of oasis. It can be an island of forest surrounded by lava fields, saved from volcano goddess Pele’s embrace. Or it can be blue sky surrounded by tall clouds, or a calm place in a high sea.
Or a kipuka can be an opening within a forest, or even a dwelling, a home within the forest. This is our Kipuka -- a cottage, a vacation home away from home for you here on Hawai'i Island ("the Big Island"). We look forward to sharing it with you.
“We were almost tempted to venture out of the cabin, but … why?”
~ Faith & Greg, Kailua, Hawai’i
